Boston’s Pizza in Marysville, OH. What a great group of folks. Couldn’t distinguish between management and employees. They all acted as though they owned the place. Very accomodating. What a great place to visit. We highly recommend them. Food was great but service was better.
Homewood Suites Pensacola airport – Provides the most outstanding service of any hotel I have ever been in. They go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure guests are taken care of. They set the bar that all other hotels will pale in comparison.
Omaha – a small gas station – traveled to occasionally. I went in one morning after not having been there for 6 months or so. Jason, the clerk greeted me with his always pleasant greeting. I picked up my goods and approached the register. After ringing me out he asked if I wanted my receipt. I was shocked that he remembered after 6 months that I always get a receipt. After showing a slight bit of surprise at remembering I thanked him for remembering. I told him it was a nice surprise that he remembered. Not an earth shattering interaction by any means but certainly memorable, positive and fulfilling for each of us. I believe it set a positive tone for each of us for the day.
Jackie – works in the Detroit airport – I was in there one afternoon. Upset about my niece who was making some poor choices and decided to join the army. I had not seen Jackie in 9 months. When I approached the counter her first question was “how is your niece”. Imagine my surprise at this woman’s amazing memory. Needless to say this earner her a big tip and a compliment to her boss.
Vicky works at a 7-11 in Virginia. When I am in town I go in there about 0500 and get a hot dog and a soda. I am always greeted with a warm smile and a “how am I doing”. Vicky works two jobs. I know she has got to be so tired each day yet her greeting is always warm and caring. She treats all of her customers the same respect and knows most of them by name. Each and every interaction with her is memorable and fulfilling.
What we would like to do for these folks is send them and their employer a letter of recognition in addition to a small monetary reward. Who would you nominate out of the three as most deserving?
